- Identify Latino key cultural values that impact grief.
- Identify concepts to consider when offering culturally informed services to the Latino bereaved community.
- Participants will be able to identify at least two strategies for practicing cultural humility as an ongoing professional commitment when working with the Latino community.

About the speakers
Yesica Lemus, MA, LPC-S
Community Education Manager, Bo’s Place
Yesica manages Community Education, runs a family group, and facilitates school groups at Bo's Place. She joined Bo’s Place in September of 2021. Bo’s Place exists to offer support and community to those who have experienced the death of a loved one. A non-profit, free-of-charge bereavement center, Bo’s Place offers multiple grief support services for children, families, and adults, and provides education and resources for those who assist people in grief. Yesica earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin, and a Master of Arts in Psychology from Houston Baptist University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and has over 14 years of experience in professional counseling and mental health.
Corina Garcia-Reyes, LMHC
Program Coordinator for Outreach School & Community-Based Services
Corina Garcia-Reyes is the Program Coordinator for Outreach School & Community-Based Services at The Children's Room in Arlington, Massachusetts. The Children's Room supports children, teens, and families in Massachusetts who are grieving. They provide free-of-charge grief support services at their Arlington center, in schools and community organizations, as well as education and training for professionals. Corina coordinates and facilitates school and community based programming including peer support groups for students who are grieving, social-emotional learning (SEL) curricula
and workshops in collaboration with schools, afterschool programs, and local agencies. Corina also delivers training sessions and presentations to school staff, agencies, and professional
organizations to promote grief support resources and trauma-informed practices. Corina earned her Master's in Education major in Mental Health Counseling from Cambridge College and also holds a Thanatology Certificate from Marian University.
